Mr. Barnes earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Subsequently, he earned a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of California.
Mr. Barnes was previously a commissioned Major Select in the U.S. Air Force where he served in the U.S. Air Force's Strategic Air Command and has over 1200 hours flight time in the B-52 aircraft. He was an electronic warfare instructor and an flight navigation instructor. Most recently, Mr. Barnes served as a program manager for Department of Defense contracts with Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, Sunnyvale, where he supervised a multifunctional team of engineers, contract specialists, and analysts. Mr. Barnes' field of technical expertise includes computer systems architecture, digital logic, analog systems, distributed communications networks, avionics system design, satellite bus architecture, automatic pattern recognition, high power RF amplifiers, digital signal processing, radar system electronics, aerospace jet propulsion systems, and other electronics/computer/aerospace related areas.
